Hello, my name is Noah Rosenberger. I am a graduate of Sauk Rapids-Rice high school and a current senior at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. I am studying hospitality and tourism management with a minor in political science. A fun fact about myself is that during my internship in Washington D.C. this summer, I was boarding in a Benedictine monastery!
I chose to join the SJBC because my grandmother went to St. Ben’s alongside Br. Paul and knew about the choir as a local music educator. My mom, alongside my grandmother, encouraged me to audition, so I took the leap of faith and ended up loving it and being a part of SJBC from 2013 to 2019!
Being a boys’ choir member taught me a lot that still sticks with me today. One of the biggest lessons was discipline—showing up prepared and putting in the work so the group could succeed together. I also learned how important it is to listen, not just to sing my part, but to really hear others and blend with them. That experience taught me that collaboration works best when everyone is tuned in to each other. Most importantly, the choir showed me the power of community. There’s something special about being part of a group where everyone contributes to creating something bigger than themselves. I carry that mindset with me in a lot of areas of life today.
One aspect of SJBC that impacted me the most was going on tour. During a tour to Chicago, I remember getting to perform for disabled veterans at the VA and feeling the healing impact of music in that moment. Furthermore, our 2018 tour to Spain and France gifted us the opportunity to perform in Notre Dame Cathedral. That experience became even more special after the Notre Dame fire; we were the third to last musical ensemble to perform there before it happened.
As the SJBC heads into its 45th season, I hope to see its regrowth. Under the direction of Aaron Carpenter, I have no doubt that it will be booming with audiences excited to see the choir perform! I would also like to give a special shout out to Br. Paul who I have had the utmost privilege of working for over the past year and got to truly learn the mission of the SJBC.

Alumni Testimonials
“Being a part of the St. John’s Boys’ Choir was an extremely rewarding and life-changing experience for me at such a young age. It taught me
to appreciate music, work hard, collaborate as a group for a common goal and balance all that life has to offer. My favorite memories were Christmas at Saint John’s, staying with host families during tours, singing the national anthem at a Kansas City Royals game, and touring the East coast. I stay connected with many SJBC alumni and staff in various professional and personal roles and feel honored to still give back to the choir in various ways.”
